Students Celebrate GCSE Success
It has been a very busy and exciting morning in Deyes High School as over 220 students collected their Key Stage 4 results. We are so immensely proud of the way these students have shown such strength of character and resilience throughout a tough examination series this year, and during the disrupted school years before this.
Every student deserves huge congratulations for contributing to overall successes in results which saw 82% of students achieve grades 9-4 in English and 71% achieve grades 9-4 in Maths. Over 65% of our students achieved at least 5 standard passes, including those in English and Maths, and 39% of students completed the full EBACC suite of subjects. A fabulous achievement! Additionally, in our BTEC and CAMNAT courses we have been delighted by the extremely high proportion of Distinction and Distinction* awards.
Individual performances have been much celebrated today too! Highlights include:
- Liam Noble – Achieved 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s
- Heidi Carlyle – Achieved 5 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8, 2 Grade 7s and 1 Grade 5
- Freya Conway – Achieved 4 Grade 9s, 4 Grade 8s and 1 Grade 7
- Hope Hassoun – Achieved 2 Grade 9s, 5 Grade 8s, 1 Grade 7 and 1 Grade 6
- Amy Lloyd-Ellis – Achieved 2 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 4 Grade 7s
- Grace Dickson – Achieved 1 Grade 9, 4 Grade 8s, 3 Grade 7s and 1 Grade 6
- Leon Hagan – Achieved 5 Grade 8s and 4 Grade 6s
Mrs Beaney, Head of School, said “These results reflect the students’ determination to succeed, despite the ways in which their education has been affected during their journey at secondary school. We sincerely hope that such fantastic results will empower our students to realise their dreams and ambitions in the future.”
We are delighted that so many students will continue their journey with us at College@Deyes and we also wish those joining a new pathway every success.
